History
Proago was officially formed in 2016, but its work began 15 years prior when founder, Joshua Harber, was called out of darkness and into the Light. Joshua desired to use his gifting to help others, wherever was needed.
His work in fundraising began in 2001 with a small organization in southwest Florida who trained cross-cultural agricultural workers. It was there that he learned the fundamentals of US-based, Western-style fundraising. Continuing along that path and working over the years in progressively larger organizations, Joshua did everything from licking envelopes to creating multi-million dollar gift proposals for some of America’s most generous couples.
Alongside his full-time career in institutional fundraising, Joshua would often take vacation or volunteer time to help groups in Latin America, Africa, and Asia bringing with him some of the principles he had learned in America. Over time, he was given more and more opportunities to serve organizations overseas, and seeing the need for information, instruction and resources there, Joshua formed Proago.
Proago now supports clients around the world through personalized coaching services and a more intensive, three-phase fundraising development program. The core work of Proago seeks to honor relationships and build a culture of generosity in people, organizations and communities.
